How do I obtain copies of case documents and judgments from Puerto Rico ?
In Puerto Rico, case documents are provided to interested parties by the General Court of Justice. In order to obtain a certified copy of a judgment or other documents you must call the Central Inactive Archive of the Administration of the Courts at (787) 274-0016. Documents from every court in Puerto Rico are stored at this facility if they are at least five years old. Documents that are less than five years old should be on file at the court in which the case was heard. If you are attempting to obtain a copy of a document that is less than five years old, the staff at the Central Inactive Archive should be able to provide you with the telephone number for the corresponding court.
